From Chaos to Calm: A Story from Me to We.

From Chaos to Calm: A Story from Me to We.

I was born into chaos. Like many of us, my early years were shaped by circumstances beyond my control. The kind of start that either breaks you or builds you into something extraordinary. Looking back now, I realize it was building me for a purpose far greater than I could have imagined.

The Early Years: Learning Through Contrast

Growing up, I watched my mother's strength in action. A single parent raising two boys, she showed me what unconditional love looked like. She taught me my first lesson about medicine - it doesn't always come in pills. Sometimes it comes in the form of sacrifice, of showing up, of loving beyond what seems possible.

I thought i was witnessing a woman pour from an empty cup, only to find that her cup was overflowing with love. She also taught me something crucial: there had to be a better way.

The Achievement Chase

By my early twenties, I was doing everything "right." Master's degree in Physiotherapy. Check. Working with elite athletes. Check. On track to open my own clinic. Check. Scholarship with the AIS to work with olympic teams. Check. The external markers of success were all there.

Then came the 100-hour weeks. The burnout. The awakening.

At 26, lying in my bed in Fremantle, already late for another packed day at the clinic, I faced a truth I'd been running from: I was helping others heal while slowly destroying myself.

The Turning Point: A Facebook Post That Changed Everything

It was a simple question from Peta Kelly that stopped me in my tracks: "What's your ideal day?"

The answer revealed everything wrong with my current path. I realized I was building someone else's dream, following someone else's blueprint for success. I was waiting until my forties to live the life I wanted now.

The Pivot: From Treatment to Prevention

What started as a personal quest for better health became a mission to transform how we think about wellness.

I discovered that true health isn't about fixing what's broken - it's about nourishing what's already whole.

The journey took me from Perth to Bali, from treating symptoms to teaching self-care, from working with individuals to building global communities.

Building Something Bigger Than Myself

Today, from my villa in Bali, I wake up to the sound of waves and the knowledge that somewhere in the world, someone is discovering their own medicine through our work:

  • The SelfCare Book: Written not just with words, but with the hope that each reader finds their own path to healing
  • SelfCare Skool: A community where wellness isn't gatekept but freely shared
  • Mentoring heart-centered entrepreneurs: Helping others build businesses that serve without depleting
  • Creating transformative experiences: Where digital connection meets real-world impact and lived, embodied experiences. Where everyone leaves feeling better than when they arrived. With tools to share with their family and community upon returning home.

The Medicine I Needed Became the Medicine I Share

Every challenge in my journey - the early chaos, the burnout, the questioning - became medicine for others:

  • The exhausted healthcare worker wondering if there's another way
  • The entrepreneur trying to scale without sacrificing their soul
  • The individual seeking community in an increasingly disconnected world

Looking Forward While Staying Present

Now, as I split my time between catching waves in Bali and building bridges of connection worldwide, I'm living that "ideal day" I once could only imagine. But more importantly, I'm showing others how to create theirs.

Your Turn

If you're reading this and feeling that stirring in your soul - that whisper that says "there must be more" - know this: your breakdown might just be your breakthrough in disguise. Your chaos might be preparing you for your calling.

Remember: We don't need to wait until we're forty to live our dream life. We don't need to sacrifice our health for success. We don't need to do it alone.

The medicine you're seeking? It's already within you.
The community you're craving? It's waiting for you to join.
The impact you want to make? It starts with taking care of yourself first.

One day at a time. One percent better. Together.

This isn't just my story - it's an invitation to write your own.

Are you ready?
